WHAT IS AN ELOPEMENT VS. WEDDING?
Traditionally an elopement is running off to get married in secret, but often these days couples plan what we now call an elopement or micro-wedding with VERY limited guest numbers (less than 20).
It gives couples an opportunity to plan simpler formalities, save money and keep their ceremony small and intimate. Covid-19 has seen a sharp rise in couples interested in doing just this (I did).
But who doesn't want to throw confetti and sip champagne with their friends too? So many couples are looking to the future and planning a sequel wedding which is just that, a follow-up celebration / reception to party with extended family and friends (and I offer coverage / collections for those too).
Who said you can't have your cake and eat it too!
SHOULD WE MEET FIRST?
The wedding photographer is (in my opinion) one of the more important vendors you will book for your big day! The photographer is the one who you spend the most time with on the day, who is at times your shadow, capturing your every move you make and after all is said and done, they are the ones who provide you with the photos to look back on and cherish. It is for this reason, that I think it is SO important to meet first and get to know your photographer (even if it's an online chat) before the wedding, to make sure we are comfortable with each other and a good fit.
WHAT BETTER TIME TO MEET THAN AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?
Pre-wedding engagement sessions are available with ALL wedding collections.
This is without-a-doubt the best time to meet (whether it's a month or a year before your wedding). We can scope wedding day locations too if desired, but let's get you comfortable with my shooting style and being in front of the camera. If an engagement session isn't on your list of must-have's and you'd rather skip it, let me know! Nothing is mandatory, everything in my collections can be tailored to suit YOU. Or better yet, let's custom design your collection!
DO YOU HAVE BACKUP PHOTOGRAPHER?
Absolutely! I'm very lucky to call a number of amazing wedding photographers in my area friends, and I can call on them to support my clients in an emergency. So don't worry, you will not be left without a wedding photographer if something should happen to me.
IF I DON'T INCLUDE PRODUCTS IN MY COLLECTION,CAN I STILL ORDER PRODUCTS AT A LATER DATE?
Always. There is no time limit on when you can order prints and extras.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS AN EQUIPTMENT FAULT?
Unfortunately technology, as wonderful as it is, does let us down from time-to-time. This hasn't happened to me (touch wood) and I go about my business aware of this rare possibility. I carry two digital SLR camera's to EVERY wedding, should one fail me I will always the other to rely on to make sure I don't miss a moment. I am also very strict about my photo backup's and storage, to make sure nothing during the editing process can pose a risk to photos.
CAN I BOOK ADDITIONAL HOURS?
You may be looking for a photographer who can be there from the first hair or makeup appointment until the bride and groom call it a night! If that is the case, contact me for a quote on additional hours coverage and we can design a collection that suits what you're after!
DO YOU HAVE A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes, I'm very lucky to have a network of professionals I can reach out to and bring as my second photographer, so we never miss a moment! A second professional wedding photographer is available for a portion or all of your big day, available for $500 for the first 3 hours (continuous shooting) and $150 per hour thereafter.
DO YOU HAVE ISURANCE?
Yes. This might not mean much to you, but a lot of venues will not host vendors without it. I can provide a Certificate of Currency when requested.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
As much as we would love to control the weather on such important days, alas we are powerless. But that doesn't mean we have to go without! Rainy days can make for some of the most magical and moody photos, and we can work in all everything from a summer sprinkling to downpours. Bring your umbrellas and gumboots and we will take advantage of the skies opening!
WILL YOU PHOTOGRAPH EVERYTHING THAT'S IMPORTANT TO US?
Communication between us will never be limited to the initial consultation and then chatting on the day. I'm in regular contact with couples long before their wedding dates to make sure I understand them, what they're after and how they envision their day and wedding photography. If you know what you're after, don't be afraid to share a list or Pinterest gallery of must-have shots. While I love the freedom to capture your story in my own style, I'm just as focused on delivering your story and the photography you are really wanting.
WILL WE HAVE TIME FOR GOOD PHOTOS and TO SOCIALISE WITH OUR GUESTS?
Of course! Helping you decide what you're after and plan your day / timeline is a part of the process. Some couples aren't fussed with bridal images and are happy with only a handful, while some couples feel they are ESSENTIAL and want two hours at multiple locations just for those 'good photos'. Both are suitable and beautiful! We will work out timing for photos (as well as deciding on the best time of day for lighting) as we discuss your collection / coverage or in the month leading up to your wedding.
DO YOU TRAVEL?
Yes please! I LOVE to travel, Australia or International, there's really nowhere I wouldn't go to capture true love! While travel and accommodation charges may apply, be sure to let me know what you're destination and ideal wedding photography looks like and I guarantee we will be able to design a collection that get's me there, and has you're wedding photography covered! No wedding day travel fees for coverage within 2 hours of Beechworth 3747.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO
RECEIVE OUR GALLERY/IMAGES?
For collections you will receive your first sneak peek the day of the wedding (I know, WHAT!) to share with family + friends. Then within a few days a short slideshow of highlights from your big day! And finally your full wedding album will be available to you in both high resolution and social media friendly file sizes through a private downloadable online gallery within 6 weeks, plus a personalised USB with your digital album will be mailed to you (if included in your booking).
HOW DO I BOOK?
If you know I'm the wedding photographer for you, then it's easy! Just get in touch, let me know what date + location you're planning your amazing wedding for and if I'm available, then count me in!
Bookings are secured with a paid retainer and signed booking contract.
All wedding collections require a $650 non-refundable retainer to be secured.
Your wedding booking balance is due ONE MONTH prior to your wedding date.
DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION?
Yes BUT... it depends where your wedding is and what time you would like me to photograph until. I am currently not charging any travel fees for weddings within 2 hours of Beechworth 3747 which covers MOST of central and north east Victoria and Southern NSW. Contact me to discuss your location and timeline for an estimate.
WHAT IF I LOSE MY PHOTOS?
Don't fret! I backup, and backup my backups. I guarantee that I will keep your final wedding album/images for three years. But let's be real, I'm never going to write over or delete those photos, and I still have wedding albums in storage from 7+ years ago.
WHAT IF I CANCEL MY WEDDING?
Unfortunately cancellations do happen. Family and world disasters impact wedding plans and sadly, sometimes end the planning process all together. If you have already booked but need to cancel, you may convert your non-refundable retainer to be used towards a lifestyle session within 12 months (products excluded) cancellation timeframe limits apply.
